Universal Music Publishing group signs Brazilian entertainment company Kondzilla to global administration agreement

01 September 2019 -- Universal Music Publishing Group (UMPG), a leading, global music publisher, today announced an exclusive, worldwide administration agreement with Brazilian executive and creator Konrad Dantas and his entertainment super-company, KondZilla.

A huge music and audiovisual business success story, KondZilla is best known for bringing Brazilian funk music into mainstream culture to be shared with the world. Initially launched as a YouTube channel in 2012, today KondZilla is a major entity whose holdings include KondZilla Films (music video production), KondZilla Records (label and publishing), KondZilla Licensing and KondZilla.com (lifestyle content website).

The company's catalog spans nearly 600 titles across more than 50 artists. Far surpassing a billion streams collectively, some of KondZilla's biggest songs include "O Grave Bater", "Encaixa" and "Rabiola" by MC Kevinho; "Oh quem voltou" by Dani Russo; "Pega a Receita" by MC Dede & MC Kevinho; "Solteiro até morrer" by MC Kekel; and "Abusadamente" by MC Gusta & MC DG.

The KondZilla channel on YouTube is a phenomenon and popular reference in Brazilian visual productions, advertising and music. It is the most popular YouTube channel in Brazil and among the top ten in the world. It has over 50.6 million subscribers, nearly half of all YouTube users in Brazil and a number equaling 22% of the whole country's population. The channel has surpassed 25 billion cumulative views across its 1,100 music videos. Amongst the 10 most watched music videos in Brazil in 2018, five are from KondZilla including 'Bum Bum Tam Tam (MC Fioti)', the only Brazilian music video to have more than one billion views.
