MAVERICK SABRE: NEW SINGLE - NO ONE – 6TH FEB NEW ALBUM – LONELY ARE THE BRAVE – 6TH FEB

Maverick Sabre

Debut album – Lonely Are The Brave

Released 6th February

Maverick Sabre’s stunning debut album ‘Lonely Are the Brave’ is now set for release, and is sure to be one of the highlights of early 2012 with it hitting the shelves on 6th February 2012.

Maverick has quickly established himself as one of the most unique voices in UK pop. A genuine talent who worked his way to prominence, his voice has done the talking. Retro-tinged soul numbers meet the hardened lyrics of his past. It’s the sound of a man that has lived a life, away from the bright lights of the Brit School generation and learned his craft the hard way, with no outside assistance, just his voice and an indefinable inner belief.

London-born and Ireland raised, his childhood has given him a unique voice, blending the accents he picked up in the two areas of his childhood with a natural, almost retro-soul tinge, a voice that he has developed since first emerging with his ‘Travelling Man’ mixtape. At first a rapper, he found his own voice over time, and this is what shines through here. As a socially-aware voice for his generation, he is in a unique position for these uncertain times.

Brought up on the music of his father, Maverick immersed himself in Chuck Berry and Bob Dylan as a kid, and it’s from the latter that he developed his broader worldview, a belief that it’s his duty to shine a light on the burning issues of the day.

Recent single ‘I Need’ is a burnished modern day blues track whilst debut single ‘Let Me Go’ is built around a classic sample by Isaac Hayes, it’s blasts of brass underpin a brilliantly distinctive vocal that helped mark out Maverick as one of the most exciting and unique voices in credible UK pop. ‘No One’ will follow these two Top 20 hits as the third single to be taken from ‘Lonely Are The Brave’.

In the last year he has toured with Snoop Dogg, as well as working with Professor Green (who he won an NME Award with for the track ‘Jungle’), Chase & Status and Cee-Lo Green. His songs are filtering through to the mainstream, with new fans in the likes of Katy B who recently covered ‘Let Me Go’ on Radio 1’s Live Lounge. Earlier this year he pulled out a show-stopping performance on Later With Jools Holland with his rendition of ‘I Used To Have It All’. Other TV appearances include an acoustic performance as part of this year’s BBC Glastonbury coverage, as well as slots on Soccer AM and T4 interviews. He has garnered praise in Q, Sunday Times Culture, Guardian, Dazed, Time Out, Wonderland, Clash and more, and been championed by Mistajam, Zane Lowe, Huw Stephens and Fearne Cotton at Radio 1, going on to be one of the moist played acts at the station this year, Maverick Sabre is set to fly into 2012 on the back of his unique and beautifully crafted debut album
