Vevo names Jon Gisby as Head of Europe

Today, Vevo has named Jon Gisby as its Head of Europe, based in its London office.

Jon has had a pivotal role in shaping the strategy for the music video platform, since Erik Huggers became CEO & President in May 2015, and has now been appointed to deliver the ambitious plans for the music company in content, technology and monetisation across Europe.

Jon Gisby said: “Vevo is at a crucial point in its journey to transform its content, product and business. Jon Gisby, is a digital media executive who has spent twenty years building, leading and transforming companies that create and deliver premium digital content. He has worked for broadcasters, rights holders, brands and platforms to identify and build new audiences and revenue, both in their existing businesses and in new digital propositions. He was one of the architects of the BBC’s digital strategy, and later ran the content and services at Freeserve, when it was the UKs largest ISP and portal. He was also MD of Yahoo! UK running their media products across Europe in 2004 – 2007. He was then appointed to the board of Channel 4 and led the teams that built 4oD into the UK’s leading commercial VOD service. He’s advised regulators on the digital advertising and brand-funded content, and helped grow European digital video start-ups such as Rightster and Magine TV.

Gisby is also the Chairman of the British Screen Advisory Council and is a Director of Artichoke Productions, one of Europe’s leading live events producers.
