Vevo funds music video for Jorja Smith’s ‘Beautiful Little Fools’

Vevo has collaborated with UK artist Jorja Smith to fund and produce the music video for her next single ‘Beautiful Little Fools’ which is being premiered on vevo.com on the 8 March.

This is the first time Vevo has worked with an artist to fully fund their music video. This move further underscores Vevo’s ongoing commitment to long-standing, meaningful relationships with artists; helping to support their vision both financially and creatively. The release will coincide with the launch of the premiere pages in the UK and Jorja will be the first UK artist to be featured.  Vevo has worked with Jorja since January 2016, and worked to premiere ‘A Prince’ (her second release and music video) followed by the self-shot ‘Where Did I Go’. Jorja is also a Vevo dscvr ‘Ones to Watch’ for 2017.

The video was shot at the Rivoli Ballroom, Brockley and was directed by Hector Dockrill, whose previous work includes videos for Donaeo and Ray BLK.

The piece features three beautifully shot narratives where Jorja plays three parallel roles that eventually meet. It’s the story of three women in the same place, all unhappy until they simultaneously reach a breaking point and become equal. To be released in conjunction with International Women’s Day, the video is about empowering women and to make a statement; regardless of your situation, be yourself as it’s you that makes you beautiful.

“It was clear from the outset of meeting Jorja that she has an amazing talent.  It’s been a privilege to be part of her journey since, lending a hand to support her vision.  It’s a great way to culminate everything we’ve achieved to date, including dscvr ones to watch & dscvr live in New York by supporting her not only with production, but also on a creative level to shoot the Beautiful Little Fools video” James Moodie, Senior Manager, Music & Talent, Vevo.
