I’m happy to announce the official launch of the new VEVO web! (Over the past few days we’ve been previewing it for a smaller percentage of viewers, in efforts to get it ready for today).

I always tell people the best products are never done. They always change and evolve, otherwise they wouldn’t be the best products for long. At VEVO, we constantly challenge ourselves to evolve and make your experience better.

Today’s changes feature a complete ground-up rebuild of our web and mobile web apps. We’re starting with web and mobile web today, but our mobile, tablet and TV apps will also be updated over the next few weeks. Whichever platform you prefer, the new VEVO includes a more prominent VEVO TV with multiple channels, plus new search, a video feed and even better ads!

Here’s an overview of what’s new:

Web & Mobile Web These apps have been rebuilt with entirely new technology for a cleaner, faster and more simplified experience. This new technology also allows us to continue to make improvements on a daily basis rather than a weekly basis. I’m particularly proud of this effort because most companies with high traffic apps like ours shy away from foundational rebuilds and just “don’t get around to it.” It becomes the achilles heel to slowing innovation and user experience. Not us, and not today. We’re really fired up about this new VEVO, and hope you’ll fall in love with it. 

Multi-Channel VEVO TV By now surely you’ve experienced VEVO TV, our always-on, broadcast style linear music channel programmed by expert human programmers. Until now, we’ve been collecting your feedback and iterating our programming approach. Today, we not only bring it to the forefront of your viewing experience (check it out via the top nav bar), but we’re also launching two additional channels. Don’t like what’s on, change the channel! We’ve got you covered with VEVO TV Hits, our all-new Pop channel airing the hottest videos across every musical genre. We’re also launching VEVO TV Nashville and VEVO TV Flow, our country music and R&B/rap channels respectively, featuring videos from each genre’s biggest stars and emerging acts. Each channel now has its own clear and focused programming for you to enjoy – from music videos to live concert events and VEVO’s own originals, you can find everything on our multi-channel VEVO TV experience.

We’re also launching our first ever VEVO TV web channel in Germany today. We’ll be launching localized VEVO TV web channels in other markets soon but, for now, our viewers in 13 countries can continue to access our linear channel via Apple TV and Samsung Smart TV.

Search Most of us take search for granted. After all, it’s a feature we use every day. But it can always improve. We’ve completely rebuilt our search to make it easier and faster to find what you’re looking for.

Video Feed We usually update the homepage daily with featured videos, but ‘daily’ isn’t enough anymore. The onus is on us to give you more reasons to come back to VEVO each day, with more ways to find and enjoy new videos. So we built a real-time feed that’s updated many, many times each day with more videos, more playlists, more artists and all around more VEVO.

Ads It’s not often you see companies talking about their ads as products. We’ve decided to take a more concerted role in providing a better ad experience for viewers and brand partners. Today you see a major revision of display ads, trailer ads, and pre-rolls. Our friends at Marvel are just as excited about our new platform launch as we are, and are the first to partner with us. You’ll see some cool marketing for Marvel’s Thor: The Dark World, which you can find in movie theaters near you starting November 8. 

Today’s changes are not only about our web apps, they’re the foundation for our new upcoming mobile apps and continued living room expansion.
