Vampire Weekend: 'Miley Cyrus struck gold with 'We Can't Stop''

Ezra Koenig, of Vampire Weekend fame, has crowned Miley Cyrus's 'We Can't Stop' as his hot pick of the year where singles are concerned.

Speaking to the Rolling Stone about the summer anthem, he explained that the melancholic undertone makes it a pop song that really stands out:

"This song is undeniable. Miley's like, "We can't stop" — in that sense, it's a typical party song. It's minimal. But there's this melancholy running through it, which is one of my favorite types of pop song."

The 'Ya Hey' hitmaker added: "You could easily write a straight-up sad song over that beat. I like that hint of sadness. It's like, "Why can't you stop? What's going to happen if you do stop?"

Cyrus, meanwhile, has just released her racy new music video for 'Adore You' after it leaked online ahead of schedule
