LONDON SHOW AT BRIXTON ELECTRIC - 15th MARCH
& US TOUR DATES ANNOUNCED

James Bay has returned with his brilliant new single, “Wild Love”. Debuting last night as “Hottest Record In The World” on Radio 1’s Annie Mac show, “Wild Love” is the first new music from Bay since his internationally acclaimed, multi-million selling, BRIT and Ivor-winning, triple GRAMMY® nominated debut album, Chaos & The Calm (2015). To coincide with the song’s release, Bay has just announced an intimate London show at Brixton Electric on 15th March, ahead of a run of US and Canada dates this spring.

Composed in East London’s Baltic Studios, Bay co-wrote and co-produced the track with his longtime friend and collaborator Jon Green and brought Paul Epworth [Adele, Florence and The Machine] in to add final production elements.

While some fans might think “Wild Love” a new sound for Bay, on this he explains: “I know some of this new sound was not apparent on my first album – there were hints, perhaps – but I think my new music helps to paint a fuller picture of who I am. As soon as I recognised I was being pinned down as ‘the intimate acoustic guitar guy’ I realised I knew I had to push myself musically. I want it as part of my arsenal, but I don’t want that solely to define me I’m not there yet, but hope that this new music can do for songwriters, loosely, what Drake and Chance The Rapper are doing for their genre: tearing up the rule book.”

Of the song, Bay says: “Wild Love is about the experience of falling for someone. Something you can feel immediately when you meet them for the first time, or which rekindles throughout a relationship. It’s also about yearning for someone – whether that’s the person you can’t keep your eyes off across the room, or in my experience, the person you don’t stop thinking about wherever you are in the world.”

Bay has already confirmed several UK festival performances this summer, including Isle of Wight and TRNSMT, and today announced the details for an intimate show at Brixton Electric on 15th March, tickets for which go on sale next Friday, 16th Feb. This will be followed by a North American headline tour, which sees him perform at venues coast-to-coast.
