'The Lover I Left Behind' is the theme song from Owen Franklin’s debut feature film,

She Moved Through The Fair, and features the haunting vocals of classical singer Lauren Gilmour. The film was written during his undergraduate studies at the University of Durham, shot during the second half of 2013 in and around Bristol with a local cast and crew, and completed last December following test screenings to invited audiences at both the Watershed and the Arnolfini Gallery.

Musically, 'The Lover I Left Behind' is inspired by traditional Celtic and folk music and its common themes of love and loss; the production may be contemporary, but the story is timeless.

The music video features key locations from the movie – including Bristol Central Library, Averys Wine Cellars and Berrow Beach - as well as some teaser footage of the film itself.

'The Lover I left Behind' will also feature on Owen Franklin’s third studio album, which is currently being written, provisionally due for release in the first half of 2016.
