This track chronicle's Smith's near-mental breakdown, following a difficult separation, and the reflection of feeling trapped in a seemingly happy life, and situation:

"This was originally written about a year ago when I was trying to come out of a broken relationship with someone that I love very much. Man, on the face of it, everything was so perfect - the house and everything. It could have been fine if I had forced myself to stick it out, but I kept thinking to myself, 'there has to be more to life than this', and that's the experience that this is based on."
