Intrinsically weaving the worlds of neo-soul and contemporary jazz compositions, South London songwriter and vocalist Ego Ella May reveals her new single ‘How Long Til’ We’re Home’, out now on UpperRoom Records. The single follows up ‘Girls Don’t Always Sing About Boys’, both of which are taken from Ego Ella May’s highly anticipated debut album ‘Honey For Wounds’, released this spring.

Born in London to Nigerian parents, on the beautifully written ‘How Long Til’ We’re Home’, Ego Ella May’s honey soaked vocals focuses on home and it’s various meanings, Ego explains “The song is about feeling lost about your place in the world, it's about longing for somewhere that FEELS like home… I wondered where is home anyway? Too African for Britain, too British for Africa”. The Sheena Bonsu Brobbey directed video was shot in various locations around London, and hones in on the songs many interpretations of home, focusing on themes of multiculturalism, community and austerity.
