(September 9, 2019 – London) – Leanne Klein has been appointed to Managing Director and Head of both Twenty Twenty and Wall to Wall in a new leadership position overseeing the two production companies, it was announced today by Ronald Goes, Executive Vice President and Head of Warner Bros. International Television Production (WBITVP).

Klein will continue to oversee Wall to Wall’s output across drama, factual and entertainment. Wall to Wall makes programmes for a broad range of broadcasters and platforms including the BBC, ITV, Channel 4, Sky, Netflix, Apple, National Geographic, PBS, Discovery and HBO, and has been recognized with numerous BAFTA, Emmy, Grierson and RTS awards as well as an Academy Award. In 2019 Wall to Wall received the Televisual Bulldog Award for Best Indie and a BAFTA for “Who Do You Think You Are?” (BBC One).

In her expanded role Klein will add leadership of production company Twenty Twenty to her portfolio. Twenty Twenty has been making award-winning shows for a global audience since 1982 including documentary, factual entertainment and drama. Current shows include “First Dates” for Channel 4, which has launched in 19 different territories around the world, “The Choir” franchise, now celebrating over 10 years of collaboration with Gareth Malone, “A House Through Time,” and the recently announced “All That Glitters,” for BBC Two.

Klein was appointed leader of Wall to Wall in 2014 after three years as the company’s Creative Director. Klein has created and produced a raft of hit returning factual formats including BAFTA winning “Long Lost Family” for ITV, BAFTA nominated “Back in Time” for BBC Two, and competition-doc hybrid “Child Genius” for Channel 4.

In 2012 she oversaw the company’s first primetime Saturday night talent show, “The Voice UK,” which became the BBC’s biggest new entertainment show for over a decade and ran for five seasons on BBC One.

Klein also has a long track-record in developing and producing factual dramas such as multi Golden Globe and BAFTA-nominated HBO/BBC Hitchcock biopic “The Girl”; BBC Two’s “Filth: The Mary Whitehouse Story”; and “The Scandalous Lady W.” Other notable recent hits include BBC Three’s new competition show, “Glow Up” and BBC Four crime series “The Yorkshire Ripper Files.”

In July 2017 Klein led the establishment of Wall to Wall West, a regional base in Bristol, which has already delivered a range of successful titles for the BBC and Netflix.

Goes said: “Leanne’s track record at Wall to Wall along with her considerable experience and business acumen mean that she is ideally placed to take Twenty Twenty forward.

We are delighted to have Leanne at the helm of both production companies and excited for the future as they continue to deliver best-in-class content for our clients.”

Klein said, “Twenty Twenty is a fantastic business with an incredible heritage and much-loved programmes. It is a privilege to take on this new role, and to be continuing the work of my predecessor Emma Willis, whose creativity I much admire.

I very much look forward to working with the first-rate Twenty Twenty team as we move into the next chapter and build on the company’s success.”

Klein commences her new position in September, following the departure of Twenty Twenty Managing Director Emma Willis.
