Warner Chappell Music, the global publishing arm of Warner Music Group, announced today the promotions of Natalie Madaj to Senior Vice President, Digital Licensing, Americas, and Daniel Lang to Vice President, Digital Licensing, EMEIA, effective immediately. They both will continue to report to Eric Mackay, EVP, Global Digital Strategy.

In their new roles, the pair will work closely with Mackay to help oversee Warner Chappell’s commercial digital initiatives around the globe, where Madaj’s focus will officially be extended to cover all of the Americas and Lang will continue to be responsible for EMEIA.

Mackay shared: “Digital is a central part of our business and having the best team is critical to expanding our reach into new verticals and maximizing our value. Natalie and Daniel have been instrumental in strengthening our relationships with digital service providers and helping to ensure that our songwriters get paid fairly and quickly. Having hired them both, it's been incredibly rewarding to see how much they’ve grown over the years, and I’m excited to have them continue to take on more responsibility.”

Madaj added: “It’s an honor to take on this new role and continue to focus on serving our songwriters and protecting their work. Our number one priority has been to close the best deals possible, so our songwriters can have long-lasting careers – something that’s been particularly important during these unprecedented times. I’m looking forward to working with Eric and Daniel to identify new opportunities for our writers across the globe.”

Madaj joined Warner Chappell in 2018 as Vice President, Digital Licensing, North America. Over the past few years, she’s helped to lead digital licensing negotiations and forge partnerships with major companies such as Amazon, Apple, Facebook, Pandora, Spotify, TikTok, and YouTube. She’s also played a key role in supporting Warner Chappell’s regional affiliates in Canada and Latin America with regards to aligning local deals with the company’s global strategy.

Lang came onboard in 2017 as Digital Account Executive, before being promoted to Head of Digital Licensing, EMEIA in 2018. During his time at Warner Chappell, he’s expanded the scope of the publisher’s multi-territory licensing strategy and strengthened relationships with key partners like Spotify, Amazon, YouTube, Deezer and Facebook, in addition to executing a more proactive licensing strategy in developing markets to cultivate new opportunities for Warner Chappell writers.
