Will.i.am wants Anne Hathaway collaboration

Will.i.am has revealed his desire to record music with Anne Hathaway.

The two US stars worked together to provide voices for the 2011 animated film Rio and they resumed their roles for its new bird-themed sequel.

It seems that the Voice UK coach was so impressed with Hathaway's singing that he wants to snap her up for a collaboration.

He told Ryan Seacrest's radio show: "I want to make music with you! From Rio 1, I was like, 'She sings like that?!'...It would be so amazing to do music outside of an animated film. That would be freaking dope."

The Les Misérables actress has replied with modesty, saying: "I am blushing so hard right now. The thing is, he's going to get me in the studio and then he's going to hear me for real, and he's going to be like, 'Oh, never mind'.

"[I mean] he works with [Black Eyed Peas'] Fergie! That's like his 9am meeting. I can't beat that!"

A synopsis meanwhile for Rio 2 reads: "Blu (voice of Jesse Eisenberg) and his family take flight for the Amazon after Jewel (voice of Anne Hathaway) decides their children should explore the world. Meanwhile, the overprotective father grows concerned that his family will leave him once they've experienced life in the wild.

"Tracy Morgan, Jamie Foxx, will.i.am, George Lopez, and Leslie Mann reprise their roles in this sequel from director Carlos Saldanha and producers John C. Donkin and Bruce Anderson - the creative trio behind the original 2011 hit."
