Will.i.am would rather make collection of "45 Vines" than an album of songs

Will.i.am has offered his thoughts on the "outdated" concept of the album.

The US star is currently working on new material, but it seems he is looking outside of the box when it comes to formats of music.

Speaking to Capital FM, the music maestro suggested that people's attention spans are too limited these days for full albums to work effectively.

He said: "What is an album now? It's all about sharing now. I'd rather look at it as a collection of things to share. An album - that's like borrowing from 1950s. It feels like such an outdated format. 16 songs? I'd rather do 45 Vines and pay attention to six seconds."

Will.i.am meanwhile added that he has been busy with 2013 Voice UK star Leah McFall:

"It's sounding really good - we shot a video the other day. It's sounding magical - she has stuff to share. I used to be able to hit the high notes like her, but now I would just end up smashing glasses."
