Will.i.Am knew he would be successful in music: 'I practised every day and knew it would be a reality'

Superstar Will.i.Am has revealed that his passion for all things music began when he was just a teenager and he put so much time and effort into pursuing sound and style that he 'knew' he would be successful.

Speaking about his younger years, the hitmaker explained to Notebook magazine: "I was hyper as a kid. Apl and I were always 'practising' music. From the age of 15 to 22 we would get together and dance, free style, write raps. We were talking about it the other day and laughing like, 'What the hell were we practising for?'."

The superstar added that he knew his unwavering dedication would eventually amount to something: "I knew back then if I kept talking about something every day then it's going to be a reality."

"I was good at creative writing (at school) - anything that required me coming up with ideas. I was popular. And I was the student who got along with my teachers. I'd be the one cleaning the black board after class. If I wasn't famous, I think I would still be creative. My core love has changed through the years - and computer electronics is my current passion."

Will.i.Am, meanwhile, recently confirmed that The Black Eyed Peas will make new music this year and told Capital FM: "OK, I can't give too many details, but there's a bunch of Pea Bodies out there that we've been tweeting back and forth for the past couple of days over the excitement of twenty years of Black Eyed Peas. We're going to have new music. We'll have a bunch of new experiences."
