Will.i.am criticises X Factor's handling of Cher Lloyd

The TV talent show mudslinging is showing no signs of abating after will.i.am took a pop at the X Factor.

The Black Eyed Peas star is set to feature tonight (March 24) in the debut of the UK version of The Voice - going head to head against Simon Cowell's other project, Britain's Got Talent.

Cowell had previously accused the BBC of creating a "silly rivalry" and suggested that the corporation is jealous of the X Factor's success.

According to the Mirror, will.i.am used former X Factor contestant Cher Lloyd as an example of how not to run a TV talent show. He said:

"I love Cher Lloyd. She could have been one of the biggest stars in the world. But they didn't treat her right. They juice the contestants to get people to watch TV. That is wrong, I can't do that."
