Will.i.Am donates 'The Voice' earnings to popular UK youth charity

Black Eyed Peas superstar Will.i.Am has made a significant donation to The Prince's Trust as he wants to help disadvantaged youth in the UK.

Writing on Twitter earlier this afternoon (June 21), the 'Boom Boom Pow' hitmaker explained that he decided to support "kids from east LDN" by offering a financial contribution of £500,000 to "build a tech program":

"I gave the majority of the money I made on the voice to the @PrincesTrust to build a tech program to get the kids from east LDN up to speed."

He issued a statement on the admirable gesture and admitted he felt compelled to "transform the lives" of London's young people and knew The Prince's Trust would be the best organisation to help:

"As a judge on The Voice, the people of the UK have welcomed me into their sitting rooms week after week and I feel very much at home here. Working with The Prince's Trust, I am joining the mission to help transform the lives of disadvantaged young people living in under-privileged neighbourhoods in the UK."

"My donation to The Trust will help these young people build skills that are vital in today's and tomorrow's job market including technology and computer knowledge."
