Will Young's new record hits the No.1 spot on the UK albums chart

Singer Will Young has entered into the UK Top 40 albums chart this afternoon at No.1 with his new record, '85% Proof'.

The hitmaker is around 1,000 combined chart sales ahead of The Vaccines’ 'English Graffiti', which is new in at No.2 today. Taylor Swift's '1989' has risen one place to No.3, Mumford & Sons' 'Wilder Mind' is at 4, and Brandon Flowers’ 'The Desired Effect' is at No.5.

Elsewhere on the UK Top 40 albums chart, Fleetwood Mac’s 'The Very Best Of' is at 36 and Mark Knopfler’s 'Tracker' is at No.40. ASAP Rocky is heading for a second UK Top 20 album this coming weekend with 'A L L A (At Long Last ASAP)', which is a new entry at No.14.

Singer Will Young recently opened up about his new album's title and confessed that it's the only one he really likes: "I hate all of my album titles. Apart from 'Echoes' actually, oh and I like 'Friday's Child', but the rest sound like self help books. I just thought, 'Oh God here we go again - what am I going to say this time?' Then my brother sort of said, 'Well what about this?'."
