Wendy and Steven welcome featured guest Celeste Fiore. Celeste (they/them/theirs) is a Partner at Argentino Fiore Law and Advocacy, LLC, and is both Founder and Chair of the TRANS AFFIRMING ALLIANCE, a New Jersey non-Profit Corporation. Argentino Fiore Law and Advocacy, LLC, specializes in family and education law, with a particular focus on the LGBTQ+ and special needs communities, while advocating for human rights and lived equality for those within marginalized populations.

A rising backlash to the Equality Act in the Senate and a slate of anti-Trans bills advancing through state legislatures across the country makes Wendy and Steven's interview with Celeste especially topical and important. Join us as we learn more about Celeste's advocacy and discuss how we can use the law to combat hatred and make the world a more equitable place.

More on Celeste: Celeste Fiore’s work as an LGBTQ educator, activist, and advocate began when they were an undergraduate. Celeste led American University’s LGBTQ undergraduate organization and was president of Outlaws, the LGBTQ law student group at Rutgers University School of Law in Camden. This advocacy background has continued and most recently, Celeste founded the TRANS AFFIRMING ALLIANCE, a New Jersey Non-Profit Corporation. Celeste regularly presents and writes on LGBTQ issues for local and national organizations. Celeste serves as a Trustee of the NJSBA, is a past Chair of the LGBT Rights Section of NJSBA, and is appointed to the Essex Vicinage’s Advisory Committee on Diversity, Inclusion, and Community Engagement, and the NJ Supreme Court Advisory Committee on Public Access to Court Records. Celeste was named a NJ Super Lawyers “Rising Star,” 2017, 2018, 2019 and 2020 and as one of the National LGBT Bar Association’s Best LGBT Lawyers Under 40.
