An active safari park provided the site in 2012, which saw Zoo Festival Project buck the trend as a stand-out success story in the toughest year for UK festivals in recent times - achieving a sell-out in its first year!
Last year artists from a broad spectrum of underground music such as Raresh, Visionquest, Ryan Elliott, Sasha, George Fitzgerald, Heidi, Ben Klock, Margaret Dygas, Eats Everything, Julio Bashmore and Chez Damier played on stages hosted by stalwart brands such as Secretsundaze, Ostgut Ton, Cocoon, Never say Never and DJ Mag.

‘The Minx FX’……an established brand running for 9 years in Ibiza and a part of the animal print furniture at The Zoo Project. They have continued to provide party animals with an unstoppable collection of styling and body painting areas, high energy artists, creative costumes and circus style acts giving the infamous seal pit and Zoo that extra roar!!!

Combining their talents with the might of…..
‘Area 51’ …. who with an unprecedented festival pedigree stretching back over two decades, have provided everything from jugglers and magicians to headlining Big Top Circus events and hosting entire themed venues within the festival environment!

Introduction…. Using a variety of production, performances and live art installations they will turn on a new kind of creativity and passion, redefining the laws of imagination… the performers will lead the charge, transforming the human form with a mix of body painting, dance, interaction and specialist circus performance to create the ultimate animalistic adventure! As well as shows and performances, an abundance of activities and workshops will be available submerging you into the Zoo experience… Expect The Unexpected….

● Voodoo ‘A powerful fire ceremony lead by an eccentric Witch Doctor and his mysterious Fire Birds and Voodoo Princesses. Practicing servants of an unknown spiritual God, their presence is drawn into the world through the elaborate ceremonies of music, dance and spirit possession’
● Zebros ‘Direct from Brazil, these high octane Capoeira artists, The Zebros, are highly skilled in this ancient art leaving you mesmerized in a visual spin’
● Human Millipede ‘Don’t get in the way of this gigantic millipede and his many feet!’
● Acrocats ‘Purrfectly graceful and acrobatic felines’
● Breakdancing Tribe ‘This tribe of breakdancing warriors will energize you with their amazing high impact routines!’
● Giant Walking Tropical Flowers – ‘Spot these beautiful female flowers towering over you, beautiful to look at, but might not be a good idea to try and sniff them!’
● Butterflies – ‘Who said people can’t fly? These beautiful butterflies will prove you wrong!”’
● Glow bugs – ‘As the dark creeps in, out creeps the glowbugs…. Creatures of the night…’
● Zoo Keepers and Safari Tour Guides – ‘Watch out for these manical characters who will have you looking all over the place for lost animals and trying to take you on journeys into the unknown!’
● Beautiful Tribal and Amazon Princesses – ‘These graceful beauties will dazzle you with their movements to the beats of the drums’
● Uga Uga Tribe – ‘Watch out for this tribe of warriors... always on the move and always looking to recruit….’
● Mermaids – ‘These sexy sirens will lure into their world under the sea…. But beware…. It’s not all bubbles….’
● Juggling Jackals – ‘Don’t get in between this duo of jugglers as they wield balls, clubs, knives and fire torches and if you’re lucky they’ll even do it on a tight rope too!

● Jumping Grasshoppers – “Watch out for the whip of the Grasshopper! The Ring Master of ’the nsect Kingdom will be keeping the animals in line!’
● Free Running and Unicycling Chimps and Gorillas – ‘These mischievous monkeys can be seen up the trees, in the bushes or dashing past you at a serious fast pace!’
● King Kong – ‘The King of the Zoo and well over 12ft tall, this giant of the jungle will be unleashed by the tribes!’
● Unleashing the animals – ‘Prepare for up close encounters with life like safari animals! Have you ever danced with a giraffe? or done a konga with a gorilla? Here’s your chance to dance with the animals… Watch out for the penguins though, they’re cheeky little things.’
● Racing Ostriches – ‘Ostriches… with men racing on their backs?? See it to believe it!’
