Zayn Malik zooms straight to No.1 in UK with 'Pillowtalk'

Zayn Malik is set to debut at No.1 in the UK with his first single 'Pillowtalk'.

The singer released the tune on Friday (January 29) as his first track since leaving One Direction last year.

The Official Charts Company confirmed today (February 1) that the single is No.1 in the UK.

It is 22,000 units ahead of its nearest competitor, Jonas Blue's 'Fast Car'.

Incidentally, One Direction's last No.1 single in the UK - 2015's 'Drag Me Down' - was their first since 2013.

At No.3 on the midweek update is Rihanna's comeback track 'Work', while Shawn Mendes' 'Stitches' drops three places to No.4.

Rounding off the top five is Justin Bieber's 'Love Yourself'.

Craig David's 'When The Bassline Drops' is up from No.14 to No.9, with Lukas Graham jumping 14 places to No.10 with '7 Years'.
