Zayn reveals the song he wrote first after leaving One Direction

Singer Zayn Malik, who famously quit One Direction in March 2015, has revealed which song from his debut solo album that he wrote first after walking out on the boyband.

During a Twitter Q&A last night, the heartthrob was asked by a follower to reveal the first solo song he wrote and confessed it was his lead single 'Pillowtalk'. He also admitted that all the songs on his new album, entitled 'Mind Of Mine', took the same amount of time to record.

Malik, meanwhile, recently sat down for an interview with the NME and opened up about the music industry. He confessed that he managed to keep his sanity thanks to learning how it all works and not letting it bother him too much:

"I’ve kept a little bit of my sanity. I understand how the media works. Journos gotta earn their money. Paps have got to earn their money. I think that’s why it came across as being mysterious or detached. I just didn’t want to get caught up in something that wasn’t real. You can be the biggest band in the world for a certain time, but that ends. I’m not saying that (I knew at the beginning). But if I did… Then f**k me, I’ve got a great brain.”
