Rising alt pop artist and Laura Mvula collaborator Naomi Banks shares another compelling cut from her upcoming mixtape, listen to 'Waiting' here.

The track is unique collaboration with BBC TV's "Mr Choir" Gareth Malone, known for leading The Military Wives Choirs to a Christmas Number 1, who unexpectedly enters the alt pop arena with Naomi Banks today. All sultry synths and electronic beats, peppered with hazy horns and hushed French verses, 'Waiting' sees Naomi at her most alluring.

Lyrically she's wrestling with a reckless desire for the forbidden, in order to stave off the boredom, as she muses before the chorus, "I can never see it working but I want it all the same".

Naomi explains... "I am very excited to share ‘Waiting' with the world. It is about wanting someone when you know they are absolutely no good for you. I wrote it with my pal Gareth Malone, we have been friends for nearly ten years now - I love him and love making music with him."

Following on from the gal-dem approved lead single 'I Don't Mind' - which Naomi just performed in a stunning piano session, 'Waiting' is the next taste from the upcoming mixtape due out 9th September. It's a project that expands the rising artist's sonic universe and entertains a range of exciting collaborations.

Previously this year Naomi released her debut EP 'Meeting Again', scooping up support and praise from BBC Radio 1, 1Xtra, BBC Radio London, Selector Radio, Reprezent, Complex, Clash, Notion, The Line of Best Fit, Dork, Gay Times and many more.

Based between London and Essex, Naomi Banks also makes a return to the stage this October with a London headline date at The Grace. Previous shows have included a sold out show at Laylow in 2019, a night with Celeste and Rachel Chinouriri, as well as singing for Laura Mvula and Lianne La Havas.

The Mixtape by Naomi Banks is out 9th September 2012.
