Fast-rising alt-rock juggernaut lostboy has shared a brand new single 'Overdue' - listen below.

A sonic sucker punch of arena-ready alt-rock, the visceral number overflows with a blend of surging riffs and sharp percussion that bounds into a mammoth, anthemic crescendo. Evidencing yet another ear worm chorus, the track harnesses an acute colloquialism in its lyrics much akin to Catfish and the Bottlemen and Courteeners.

Speaking about the track in more detail lostboy explains: "I wanted to really capture those feelings of frustration when you can’t (or feel like you can’t) see your mates or get out for a catch up. Sometimes things get in the way; be that your daily grind, covid or just that you don’t feel up to it. Being back at festivals for the first time this year as a punter has shown me how full off madness everyone is to be back with the people they call home. I wanted to write this song for them."

Alongside the new single, lostboy will also be playing his two biggest headline shows to date this November in Bristol and Sheffield - two cities very close to the band's heart. It follows on from their triumphant UK tour back in May which saw lostboy and his band of brothers bring their euphoric performances to London, Manchester, Leeds, Newcastle, Cardiff and Birmingham.

No stranger to Spotify's New Music Friday, Fresh Finds and The Indie List playlists, lostboy has also found a home on Apple's New Music Daily, ALT CTRL, New In Alternative and New In Rock playlists. Whilst on the airwaves he's been receiving support from BBC 6Music, BBC Introducing, Radio X and Amazing Radio.

'Overdue' follows hot on the heels from the most recent EP 'Love Among Angry People'. Consisting of five concise, palpable and energetic alt-rock bangers, it shows great promise for the fast-rising Sheffield-based project. And with streaming numbers in the hundreds of thousands it seems many people agree.
