Adam Lambert tops poll of all-time favourite 'American Idol' contestants

'Trespassing' superstar Adam Lambert has finished in first place on a poll conducted by Ryan Seacrest to find people's favourite 'American Idol' contestant of all time.

The poll was done by Seacrest's radio show on KIIS-FM and he compiled a list of 27 'Idol' sensations who were then voted for by the public and put through a series of 5 eliminations. The vocal powerhouse came out on top, beating the likes of Chris Daughtry (No.9), Jennifer Hudson (No.12), and David Archuleta (No.2) to the impressive title.

Back in April, the current finalists of 'American Idol' praised Lambert's talent and described watching him on the show as inspiring. Caleb Johnson admitted that Lambert is one of his all-time favourite contestants:

"I loved the stuff with Chris Daughtry. I remember watching that as a kid, and also Adam Lambert. I mean Adam Lambert just kind of just blew the roof off the show and just kind of and just really carved his own path, you know, from the show and what not and he was just an incredible singer, performer. I mean that’s a rock star right there, both him and Chris Daughtry are two of the biggest stars to come off this show.”
