Adam Lambert says new album will "surprise and impress" people

Adam Lambert believes his next record will "surprise" some people.

The singer has been busy working on the follow-up to his 2012 album 'Trespassing', but forthcoming tours with Queen will put the record temporarily on the backburner.

However, the vocal powerhouse told news.com.au that his new tunes will have the ability to "surprise" people and please non-fans.

Lambert said: "[The new music will] surprise and impress people - some of it is unexpected, which I love."

Speaking meanwhile about the possibility of teaming up with Queen on new material, the former American Idol man said:

"It could happen. This will be the longest we’ve spent together so I’m sure we’ll get to the point where we want to do something creative. Now we know the show let’s do something new. It could happen."
