Adam Lambert nominated in entertainment category for The Gay UK's New Year's Recognition list

Vocal powerhouse Adam Lambert has been nominated in the entertainment category for The Gay UK's New Year's Recognition list.

This particular nomination is for "people or organisations who have contributed to the awareness of LGBT+ people in the entertainment industry" and the other acts he's up against include British singer Joe McElderry and the Drag Queens of London.

A statement on The Gay UK's website explains that the New Year's Recognition list was created to honour those who have made a significant impact on the LGBT community and in raising awareness for related issues:

"In the last month, thousands of people have nominated hundreds of individuals, projects and companies. We've taken the top three from each of the eight categories and it's your chance now to vote on who should receive the New Year's Recognition. Recipients will be announced on the 1st January 2015."

To cast your vote you can click here, and the winners of each category will be announced on New Year's Day (January 1, 2015).
