Queen + Adam Lambert play the first of two London shows

Queen + Adam Lambert rocked London's O2 arena last night (January 17) in the first of their two shows at the indoor arena venue. 

The London dates are part of a wider UK and European tour which has already seen the British rock group and American vocalist play to audiences in Newcastle (January 13) and Glasgow (January 14). 

Last night's concert (January 17) saw the band playing many of their biggest hits including 'Don't Stop Me Now', 'We Will Rock You' and 'Bohemian Rhapsody'.  

Ahead of taking to the stage yesterday, Adam Lambert tweeted that he was: "Ready to party".  

Whilst a post show tweet from guitarist Brian May praised fans for attending the tour: "Thanks London Hometown folks !! Great night at O2 ! Cheers !"  

A review of the concert by The Telegraph stated: "No-one can better fill Freddie Mercury's shoes better than Lambert".

Queen + Adam Lambert play London's O2 Arena again tonight (January 18) before going on to play Leeds, Manchester, Birmingham and Nottingham later tihis month. 

In a recent interview, Adam Lambert revealed that touring with Queen has influenced the sound of his upcoming album.
