Adam Lambert on acting: 'I couldn't figure out why I was so nervous'

Vocal sensation Adam Lambert has opened up about his time on 'Glee' and confessed that he was surprised by how nervous the role made him.

Speaking to 104.3 MY FM this week, the 'Ghost Town' sensation admitted that he didn't audition for the role of Elliott 'Starchild' Gilbert so walked into it with people blindly assuming he would be a good actor:

"I had a great time. You know, it was funny because when Ryan Murphy contacted my people and made an offer, he said, 'hey, I'd like to put you on Glee', I was so flattered and excited, and said, 'yes, of course I'd love to do it.' I showed up to work the first day and I was so nervous. I was like, 'why am I so nervous?' ... 'oh, right, I didn't audition! I hope I can do this. What if I'm horrible? What if I'm a crap actor and no one bothered to check it out?'"

When asked if this was his first real acting job, he added: "First kind of on camera, TV... I've done theatre in the past, but that's different. I didn't know what the heck I was doing. I had to carefully pay attention. Luckily I was on set with Chris Colfer the first day, who is a true professional and a really nice guy, and after the first day I was good."
