Adam Lambert and his mum talk about their relationship for Mother's Day

'Ghost Town' sensation Adam Lambert and his mother Leila feature in People magazine's Mother's Day issue to celebrate the American holiday.

Mother's Day in the U.S. falls on Sunday, May 10 and to honour the occasion, a series of pop and rock stars spoke about their mums to the publication in an article simply named 'Musicians & their Moms'.

Lambert, who can be seen posing with his mother above left, explained that his parents' love of music inspired him immensely and influenced his own tastes: 'My parents had such a big music collection. My mom liked Al Green and Bob Marley - I was exposed to a lot of the stuff they were listening to."

Leila Lambert added: "He's introduced me to a lot of music I probably wouldn't have listened to before, like every pop song that's out there." She went onto confess that they stay in touch regularly, even when her superstar son is on tour: "He's really amazing. I'll text him and he gets back to me right away."

Lambert, meanwhile, is due to perform his new single on 'The Ellen Show' later today (April 30) and told his followers to tune in for his appearance: "Set your DVRs! I’ll be performing #GhostTown on @theellenshow tomorrow."
