Adam Lambert: 'I freaked out about Madonna's 'Ghosttown' single'

Vocal powerhouse Adam Lambert has opened up about discovering that Madonna had released a single called 'Ghosttown' just before his own new single, entitled 'Ghost Town', dropped.

Speaking to Andy Cohen on Watch What Happens Live this week, the superstar explained that he was concerned that people would think it was an intentional similarity:

“I had a momentary freakout when I opened my computer. My song was already done and mixed, and we had already decided it was the first single… Her album, because of the leaks, had come out early. And I see, “Ghosttown,’ and I was like, ‘What are the chances?’ I had a little mini freakout because I’m a big Madonna fan and I didn’t want anyone to think I was coming for her.”

Lambert also recently spoke to VH1 about his new album, 'The Original High', and talked about the meaning behind the title: "I mean, the adrenaline rush I'm always trying to recreate is the first time you're on stage for something. The first night you're on tour or your first time singing a song... a lot of firsts. The song, 'The Original High', is the second track on the album and it's all about that. Your first kiss, your first love, or the first time you felt amazing about yourself."
