Adam Lambert on new album: 'I definitely wanted it to be about vocals'

Adam Lambert says he tried to experiment with his vocals more on his new record.

The singer released his latest studio effort 'The Original High' last week.

Speaking to ABC News, the US star said that he wanted to create an emphasis on his singing.

Lambert said: "I definitely wanted it to be about vocals. It was just about a different colour vocal.

"It was about being more intimate, maybe making the listener feel like I was singing right into their ear in moments.

"I definitely dug a little lower into my range than I have in the past, and I still got my Adam signature wailing bits and I still holler, but it’s just a little bit more variety as far as the places that I go."

The album meanwhile has reached No.4 in Australia.
