Adam Lambert says one of the themes of his latest record is the attempt to find "happiness".

The singer recently released this third album 'The Original High'.

Speaking in a new cover interview with Fault magazine, the US star said that his studio effort deals with the unpredictable nature of trying to be happy.

Lambert said: "It's about the pursuit of happiness. We all have something that gives us pleasure, but that thing can sometimes turn on you and put you through hell."

Talking meanwhile about the changes he felt when recording 'The Original High', the singer added:

"I think I feel more confident in my talent than I did before, and more clear in my direction.

"I don't feel I have to assert myself as much, which means there's a lot less ego in the music."
