Adam Lambert: 'I want to connect with the real stuff in my head'

Vocal sensation Adam Lambert has opened up about what he's like behind closed doors and why he decided to leave the theatrics behind.

During a new interview after his Notion magazine shoot, Lambert spoke to Alexis Knox and explained that his new look was inspired by a desire to be more authentic:

"Now I want to be more real. Now I want to, like... I want to connect with the real stuff that's going on in my head and my heart, and my spirit."

"Things on this album that are really interesting... it's very dancey and it makes you want to move, but lyrically it's really dark."

When asked about the Adam Lambert we don't get to see in the media, the 'Ghost Town' sensation went onto add that he can be very introspective:

"I think so much... I think too much, man. I have a lot of really great friends and a great social life, but when I'm at home maybe by myself... you know, I'm like the next person. What should I do differently? What do I need to do better? I'm hard on myself - that's the secret. It makes me work really hard."
