Adam Lambert: 'I know my fans - they let me just be myself'

Hitmaker Adam Lambert recently sat down for a chat with The Insider and opened up about a variety of topics from keeping his beloved Glamberts happy to hiring a stylist.

During the interview, he was asked about overhauling his sound for his latest album 'The Original High' and explained that he feels as though his fans allow him the freedom to experiment: "At this point it has been six years since 'Idol' and I know my fan base really well... all I have to do is be myself."

When asked about paving the way for other openly gay artists in the entertainment industry, the superstar admitted that it's amazing to finally see change happening: "Look at someone like Sam Smith, who's had such a stellar year. I could only hope to have that type of year. Things are changing and it's really exciting that people aren't so scared of what they don't understand anymore."

The 'Ghost Town' sensation also joked about his old sense of style and confessed that he has now taken the help of a stylist: "I look back at some of these red carpet photos and let me tell you... what was I thinking?! Holy Moses. That's what happens when you insist on styling yourself, I think!"
