Adam Lambert and Roger Taylor on Isle of Wight Festival and original material

This year's Isle of Wight Festival will take place this summer between June 9-12 and Queen and Adam Lambert have been confirmed to perform at the event.

Lambert and Roger Taylor sat down for an interview with BBC 6 Music and explained their decision for saying yes to the festival. Drummer Taylor said:

"Several of my friends in music have said that it's a great, well-run festival. In England, we associate it with Bob Dylan's historic return to the stage... and Jimi Hendrix, one of his last performances. It's kind of iconic in our memories and it's the one we wanted to do."

The pair were then asked about the possibility of creating new Queen material together and Lambert explained that they haven't thought too much about it because their schedule has been so busy:

"Well, we haven't been on a bus yet... it's been a private jet, darling. Which is one of the other things I've learned from Queen. I travel within much more humble means when I'm by myself, but I get to be with royalty when I'm working with Queen, which is a treat. Recording new music is a question we've gotten a lot. I think we can all say that we don't know."

Taylor added: "We've had that question a couple of times today. Since we've known Adam, we've toured around the world and it's been such great fun that we haven't thought about making new music. He's making his own music... It could be a great idea, actually."
