Adam Lambert wants to share personal Freddie Mercury influence

Adam Lambert says he hopes to share his personal Freddie Mercury influence when performing with Queen.

The singer was a fan of the band before getting the chance to front them a few years ago.

Speaking in a new interview uploaded to the group's YouTube account, Lambert played down suggestion that he is a replacement for late star Freddie Mercury.

Instead, the US vocalist said he wants to portray just what a big influence Mercury has been on him.

Lambert said: "There's never going to be another, and I'm not replacing him.

"That's not what I'm doing. I'm trying to keep the memory alive, and remind people how amazing he was, without imitating him. I'm trying to share with the audience how much he inspired me."

Queen and Adam Lambert meanwhile are due to tour Europe this summer with a mix of festival dates and open air shows.
