Adam Lambert on course for US No.1 album

Adam Lambert could be set to land a US No.1 album with his latest release, 'Trespassing'.

Billboard reports that the album is currently on course to hit the top spot in the Billboard 200 when the chart is announced next week (May 23).

However, Lambert is set to come across some fierce competition, with the album expected to sell only 70,000 to 80,000 copies by Sunday (20 May).

If it does reach the expected amounts - and hits No.1 - then it will be the smallest sales sum at the top of the chart since last August when Adele's '21' sold 76,000 units.

As previously reported, Lambert revealed recently that 'Trespassing' is also at the top of the US iTunes chart.
