Adam Lambert "grateful" for GLAAD award nomination

Adam Lambert has revealed his joy at being nominated for a GLAAD Media Award.

As previously reported, the singer's 2012 album 'Trespassing' was given a nod in GLAAD's Outstanding Music Artist category ahead of their 2013 awards.

He will go head-to-head with the likes of Frank Ocean and Rufus Wainwright in the battle for the prize.

Taking to Twitter after being nominated, Lambert said that he is joined by some esteemed artists in his award category. The 'Better Than I Know Myself' man said:

"I'm so grateful to be nominated for a @GLAAD Media Award! It was a great year! Congrats to my fellow nominees - great company to be in."

The GLAAD Media Awards say that they "recognise and honour media for their fair, accurate and inclusive representations of the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender community and the issues that affect their lives".

The 24th GLAAD Media Awards will be held over three events in March, April and May in New York, Los Angeles and San Francisco.
