Adam Lambert to be honoured by GLAAD with a special award

Vocal sensation Adam Lambert has been named by GLAAD as the recipient of the Davidson/Valentini Award, which he will be given at a ceremony later this spring.

The 'Trespassing' hitmaker impressed the association with his consistent support for the LGBT community along with the lifestyle and values he promotes, and the prize he is set to receive is reserved only for openly LGBT media professionals who have made a significant difference in promoting equality for the LGBT community.

GLAAD's Wilson Cruz released a statement on Lambert's upcoming honour, in which he explained that the superstar's 'fearless' attitude is incredibly admirable: "Adam Lambert's continued success as one of the world's best-selling pop stars shows LGBT people that they can be themselves and make it in a mainstream industry that many feel unfairly rejects them. Adam is fearless on stage and astonishes audiences in every country he performs in."

Lambert will be awarded with the coveted trophy at a ceremony on San Francisco on May 11.
