Vocal sensation Adele celebrated her 27th birthday yesterday (May 5) and shared a photograph this morning from her party. 

She uploaded a collection of images to her official Twitter page earlier today and explained that she dressed up as her hero, music icon George Michael, for the special day: "Thank you for the birthday wishes I had a wonderful time! I was my hero x #gottahavefaith."

Adele's groundbreaking album '21' was recently named best-selling record of the millennium and the Official Charts Company confirmed that it has sold 4,740,000 units in the UK so far.

Her producer, Paul Epworth, recently told Billboard magazine that there's no real schedule for her next album and he doesn't know when it's likely to be recorded: "I've got nothing. There are no clues. That will come when it's ready." She initially teased fans that a new offering might be in the works because around her 26th birthday last year, Adele had tweeted: "Bye bye 25... See you again later in the year x."
