Adele's '25' set to become UK's fastest selling album ever

Adele's latest record could be about to become the fastest selling album ever in the UK.

The singer released '25' on November 20 and it has been selling by the bucketload.

The Official Charts Company confirmed today (November 23) that it has already shifted over 500,000 units in the UK.

This means that it is now the second fastest selling record in the UK ever - and it looks set to overtake 'Be Here Now' by Oasis, which sold 696,000 in a week, at the top spot in the list.

Adele's last album - 2011's '21' - only sold 208,000 copies in its first week.

At No.2 on the midweek update is Elvis' 'If I Can Dream', while Justin Bieber's 'Purpose' follows at No.3.

The top five is rounded off by Enya's new entry 'Dark Sky Island' and One Direction's 'Made in the A.M.' respectively.

Take That's new version of 2014's 'III' is in at No.6, while Olly Murs' 'Never Been Better' repackage is No.10.

Newton Faulkner meanwhile is a new entry at No.26 with 'Human Love'.
