Adele jokes during tour about 'depressing songs' and dodgy bowels

Adele has launched her highly anticipated world tour.

The singer opened the run, which comes in support of her 2015 album '25', at the SSE Arena in Belfast on Monday (February 29).

The Brit started with her comeback single 'Hello' before ploughing through a set of both new and old material.

Adele, in typical fashion, kept fans amused with some on-stage banter, with the singer admitting to suffering from "bad bowel movements" recently.

The Guardian reported she said: "I’ve been f*cking sh*tting myself all day. I’ve had to have an Imodium."

NME said Adele also quipped that "some of my songs get a bit depressing".

Next up for the hit star is a show at the same venue tonight (March 1) before she heads to Ireland and the UK mainland.
