Adele confirms she is headlining Glastonbury during concert

'Hello' sensation Adele has confirmed that she will be headlining at this summer's Glastonbury Festival in the UK.

She announced the news during her latest London concert and told her audience: "Don't tell anyone I told you. I think it's a secret!"

Shortly after she shared the information with the live crowd, Glastonbury organiser Emily Eavis posted a message on Twitter and revealed that she will be thrilled to welcome Adele to the Pyramid stage in June: "What a great honour it is to have the wonderful Adele confirmed for this year's Saturday night headline spot on the Pyramid Stage!"

Earlier this month, Eavis told ID that she would love to get Adele on the line-up: “We love Adele. She’s an incredible artist and brilliantly honest and funny and real and that’s what everybody loves about her. She’s a great example because she doesn’t put up any pretence.”

Glastonbury 2016 performers so far include PJ Harvey, 'Paradise' hitmakers Coldplay, British rock trio Muse, and Jeff Lynne’s Electric Light Orchestra. Glastonbury 2016 will run from Wednesday, June 22 until Sunday, June 26 and tickets have already sold out.
