Adele, Ed Sheeran and Ariana Grande up for coveted award

The Song of the Year prize at the annual BMI Awards is one of the most coveted honours and this year's nominees are nothing short of incredible. 

Singer-songwriter Sam Smith won the title last year for "Stay With Me", but this year sees tough competition from some of music's biggest names.

Adele is up for the prize with "Hello" alongside Ed Sheeran's "Photograph", Ellie Goulding's "On My Mind", Ariana Grande's "One Last Time" and George Ezra's "Budapest". The ceremony is set to take place at London's Dorchester Hotel on October 10 and the full list of Song of the Year nominees can be seen below:
