Nominations for the 2011 American Music Awards were revealed last night and British vocal powerhouse Adele is leading the pack with four nods. 

The 'Rolling In The Deep' superstar has been recognised in the well-respected categories of Favourite Female Artist, Favourite Album for '21', Favourite Adult Contemporary Artist and Artist of the Year. 

Following closely behind with three nominations apiece are Katy Perry (Artist of the Year, Favourite Female Artist and Favourite Adult Contemporary Artist), Lady Gaga (Pop or Rock Album, Favourite Female Artist and Artist of the Year) and Lil Wayne (Artist of the Year, Favourite Rap/Hip Hop Artist and Rap/Hip Hop Album).

Pitbull and Katy Perry are the first confirmed performers for the ceremony, which will be held on November 20 at the Nokia Theater in Los Angeles.
