Vocal sensation Adele has finally been confirmed to perform at the 2012 GRAMMY Awards ceremony. 

The 'Someone Like You' hitmaker was rumoured to sing at the prestigious event, but has now been officially named as one of the performers and she issued a statement on the exciting news, in which she explained:

"I'm immensely proud to have been asked to perform at this year's GRAMMY Awards. It's an absolute honor to be included in such a night, and for it to be my first performance in months is very exciting and of course nerve-racking, but what a way to get back into it all."

She also took to social networking site Twitter to tell her followers about the forthcoming appearance and wrote:

"Ima be, Ima be singing at the Grammys. It's been so long I started to forget I was a singer. I can't wait, speak soon xx"

She will share the stage at the GRAMMY Awards ceremony, which is set to take place on February 12, with the likes of Coldplay, Rihanna, Bruno Mars, Nicki Minaj, Taylor Swift and Foo Fighters.
