Adele opens up on vocal injuries

Adele has opened up about her vocal injuries sustained in 2011 - and said that the initial incident was as if something had "popped" in her throat.

The super singer told 60 Minutes that the extent of the injury made it feel like someone had put a "curtain" over her throat.

She then underwent laser surgery to remove a polyp from her throat. Speaking of her injuries, Adele said:

"It felt like someone put a curtain over my throat. It felt like something popped in my throat. I had laser surgery. [They] put lasers down your throat, cut off the polyp, and kind of laser your haemorrhage back together and fix it."

As previously reported, Adele is set to continue along the comeback trail with a performance at this year's Grammy awards, which are due to take place on February 12.
