Adele named most listened to artist when falling asleep

Vocal sensation Adele has earned herself a rather bizarre new title after a Travelodge poll crowned her the most listened to music artist when going to sleep.

The study was conducted by British hotel chain Travelodge and around 2,000 guests answered the question about who they like to listen to late at night, which saw Adele named as the most popular.

A spokesperson for Travelodge also revealed that Coldplay came in second and other top 5 artists included Snow Patrol and One Direction, adding:

"After a long stressful day it's essential that you de-stress to aid sleep and listening to music will help focus your attention and assist your body and mind to relax."

Stevie Williams, Edinburgh Sleep Expert, explained: "Results from various sleep studies undertaken with a variety of male and female groups, has indicated that listening to soft, relaxing music at bedtime leads to a number of different benefits to a night's sleep."
