Hollywood director: "Adele will win Oscar"

Hollywood actor-and-producer Seth MacFarlane thinks Adele will scoop the Oscar for best original song this year.

The star directed, co-produced, co-wrote, and voiced the title character of Ted - the 2012 comedy film also starring Mark Wahlberg and Mila Kunis.

MacFarlane is nominated in the category for 'Everybody Needs a Best Friend' from the movie, while Adele co-wrote and sang the theme tune from Bond film 'Skyfall.'

Talking to USA Today, MacFarlane revealed that he is preparing to lose out to British superstar Adele at Sunday's coveted awards ceremony: "We will lose to Adele. Don't get me wrong - as cynical a guy as I sometimes appear to be, nothing would delight me more than to walk away with that [award].

He added: "But I don't think there's a chance in hell that we will win."

24-year-old Adele is rumoured to be singing at the prestigious film ceremony this weekend in Los Angeles.

Taking to Twitter after the nominees were announced, the over-excited star exclaimed: “Oh my god I feel like Meryl Streep!! Thank you x (sic)."
